2024 is just getting started. But for former President Donald Trump, his schedule for the years already pretty booked and busy will spend the year between. That’s on the campaign campaign trail in courtrooms. In the several trials he’s already involved in all this while he continues to be the Republican front runner and fresh litigation is expected in the coming months. Joining me now is a white collar criminal defense attorney Randy Zelin and political consultant Hank Sheinkopf. Thanks to both of you for coming on the Hank, let’s start with you. Hard to imagine anyone else who has more going on this year than former President Donald Trump. Just taking a look at some major key dates this month alone for from running for president. Again to all of his legal obligations in multiple cases. So how does this next year look for him. And Hank, how do you expect him to manage it?
00:01:01
>> Well, he’s going to have to he says, bring have a lot of decent people around He’s going to in court a lot. But he’s also going to be on the road in the campaign trail and get far the allegations and get presidential candidacy having kind of banged into each other at all. And frankly, they’ve helped His numbers are very good. He is leading the Republican field and it be anyone that doesn’t seem to be any way that that’s not that that’s going to change significantly.
>> And about for those close to him his family, his lawyers and his presidential campaign advisors. How do see them getting into all of this?
>> You tolerate it? Because you’re he’s in he’s that kind of the Energizer large. He’s not going to stop. He wants to present bat he feels confident, confident, obviously that these charges will somehow motivate his constituency. Those are going about from Detroit with even greater intensity.
>> Randi, let’s bring you and is there specific case you’re watching play out more that you think could really make a difference for Trump’s run for office or legal consequences.
00:02:04
>> I think it’s very difficult to say, yes, because every time you focusing on one case, something happens somewhere else. It truly is a game of whack a mole. And you can look at each case and say, wow, that that’s very interesting. You look at the documents case in mar-a-lago and say, well, all that case seems to be pretty cut and dry mean the documents were there. They’re not supposed to be there. We were told that they weren’t there. Then you look what goes on in Manhattan with the hush money case and then you turn around and you look at January 6 in DC and that’s a very emotional case. And then you look at Georgia with electors. So you really it’s like sandwich shop. How do you like the best? So I don’t know that there’s any one case. Any more interesting than the other. I think what’s most interesting is the fact that the numbers keep going up, the polling numbers keep going up. The man appears to be indestructible man appears to be truly the

Teflon Don. And he is a primer on the importance of always being the last are seeing standing
>> All right. Hank up, former President Trump has been able to use his legal troubles to boost donations and strengthen his campaign is a likely this will continue once voting starts or could we see is legal troubles actually distract voters and negatively impact his campaign as a whole?
>> Depends on which case comes up and what the findings might be and what the revelations are along the way. There are those, however, who will leave it like in those circumstances, he’s being tossed off the ballot certain states is a bad move for Democrats. Because all that will do is increase resentment among the Maga voters among the Trump voters and even among people leaning toward Trump will say, wait a second, what are you using the law for? Heard him again, it’s not good news. Will he win? Well, you know, 5 minutes politics, his 300 years and anything else we can all predict if you had to bet today Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee and likely will be the
00:04:06
president United States from January 2025.
>> Yeah, Trump leading and a hypothetical matchup against a current President. Joe Biden and several polls across battleground states. Randy, depending on the timing of the trials and if he wins the GOP nomination, we could see him run as a convicted felon in November. But how likely is that to happen?
>> It appears to be increasingly on likely because what we’re seeing now with team Trump. Is that they are really doing such a masterful job of navigating each of these cases procedurally with things are playing right into their hands because the truth of the matter is like it or not. Goal is to federal trials until after the election. Because if he wins the election and he is the president of the left. The president elect. It will be his Department of Justice. His
00:05:08
Department of Justice will dismiss these cases and even if they didn’t, he will lie to pardon himself or he will look to his vice president and say 25th Amendment, you’re president for 5 minutes go and So the federal cases are going to be gone. Which will then really take the steam out of the remaining state cases. And the truth it’s not a bar. It doesn’t disqualify him from holding office. So it almost becomes so walk. Good perspective. There.
>> Donald Trump is the only presidential candidate facing not one but multiple lawsuits and charged in several states. And he continues told a very strong lead as the GOP front runner. Is he running in the strongest or worst possible position?
>> Running the Trump position which for his purposes of the Republican Party, which he owns is the right position, the strongest nation to be. And there’s nothing you can do that will turn the Maga voters away from him. And as the
00:06:11
keeps getting knocked off the ballot in states throughout the country, whatever it will make even stronger candidate. That’s the problem. You know, democracy is not being well served, but who knows what the future holds.
>> All telling that it really is they have it really. You have right now almost the sound of one hand clapping. The Biden administration is doing nothing doing nothing in terms of border security. Even though the stock market is up, you don’t hear the Biden administration climb leaning over how well the stock market is doing the potential for interest rates to go down. There is no good news coming out of the Biden administration is the constant pounding of Trump Trump, Trump, Trump against Biden’s enacted Biden’s vacations and Biden sign. So how could? Donald Trump not succeed given that atmosphere.
>> Yeah. And we know that the Biden a lot of what action has really struggled build upon.
00:07:12
You know, we know that the Biden administration has really struggled with the in terms of their their message with Bidenomics. It’s it’s a message that resonating with voters. And and, you know, the the White House has tried to stay the course, but it’s going to be go time in a few assuming that this is the, you know, the general election matchup between both Trump and Biden, which is what we expect to see. Hank, sorry, go ahead.
>> He 3 chances to figure this one out of the pump. Price is too Biden’s Rush trouble. Administration has not been able to tout their success is why? Because they haven’t out of successes. It’s hard to tell if your success is when you’re trying to fend off World War. 3, we have wars going on the world frankly sink the entire world and a major catastrophe. She’s managing that well, but that’s not what Americans want to hear. They don’t generally vote on foreign policy issues bread and butter, consumer issues. And in that place, the president just isn’t.
>> You can question about that. That’s exactly what
00:08:13
happened to George wrote senior. The one that you want to import War made America strong but lost the election. Why? It’s the economy. Stupid said James Carville.
>> Exactly. Alright. Criminal defense attorney Randy Zelin and political consultant Hank Sheinkopf. Thank you both for
