A civil fraud case against the former US president that will last weeks has begun in New York. Donald Trump launched a tirade inside the court after his arrival, describing the case as “the biggest witch hunt of all time”.
‘We could see the end of the Trump Organization as we know it’
As we wait for the court to return, US trial attorney Randy Zelin has been speaking to Sky News in the last few moments.
Asked how this could end for Trump, Mr Zelin said the former US leader could lose his properties and businesses.
He could also lose his ability to continue to do business.
“He doesn’t go to jail but there are a whole bunch of indictments to take care of that we could see the end of the Trump Organization as we know it,” Mr Zelin added.
He went on to say that it was now up to the judge to determine what the punishment would be.
